Peters Rabbit Holidays is a family run business, offering boarding accommodation for Rabbits, Guinea Pigs and other small pets whilst you are on holiday, away on business, in hospital or any other reason you are unable to take care of them yourselves. Whilst your pet rabbit or guinea pig is in our care, it will be housed in a clean, spacious, safe & secure hutch with daily access to an outdoor run. (if the weather is poor we also have indoor runs available.) Your pets home will be cleaned daily (we use wood shavings, newspaper and plenty of good quality hay). We have indoor and outdoor hutches, please state your preference when booking.
(For more pictures of our "rabbitry" see our gallery pages or click on the picture above) Our indoor hutches and runs are accommodated within a large 16 x 12 foot room which is well ventilated for hot weather and heated in the cold, and allows us to have indoor runs for the winter, and bad weather in the summer, so your pet is not confined to its hutch all day and night regardless of the weather. Rabbits are susceptible to heatstroke and can tolerate cold weather better than hot. On hot and humid days we put the rabbits out in their runs early morning, around 7am, but take them into the rabbitry for the hottest part of the day, and then back out again for early evening before bed. We also have some larger outside hutches suitable for French Lops and other giant breeds.
Your pet will be fed a variety of
fresh food and their own dried food. We
will provide your rabbits with top quality hay.
We cannot stock all makes of
dried food, and as rabbits and
other small animals do not like changing their
food, and can even die if it is changed suddenly, we ask that you bring
enough of your pets usual dry food for its stay with us. We
ask that small rodents are
brought in their own cage, which must be safe & secure. All pets should arrive & depart in a suitable pet carrier along with their dried food, grooming brushes & any toys or treats that may make them feel at home. We will treat your pet like one of our own, playing with and petting regularly so that it will feel at home and hopefully not miss you too much
